Custom and stock plastic packaging manufacturer Placon has launched a new line of deli product line designed for its food market.
Dubbed Crystal Seal Cravings, the new sustainable deli product line is made from post-consumer recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) materials that will help meet sustainability goals.
Craving containers features a tamper-evident lid to protect the product inside and is suitable for curbside pick-up, food delivery, and fresh, on-the-go convenience. It also improves sustainability.
Placon said that the growing online grocery and curbside food pick-up shopping pattern has made food safety ‘more important than ever’.
In a statement, the company said: “We are pleased to announce the launch of our NEW Crystal Seal Cravings Tamper Evident deli products to our stock food product line-up.”
It noted that “tamper-evident packaging allows the user to identify whether the package has been tampered with”.
In addition, the PCR EcoStar material offers merchandising options, with custom printing available on the cups.
According to Placon, Craving products can be used to package items such as fresh-cut fruits, veggies, cold deli, freshly prepared food and more.
The company designs and manufactures custom and stock plastic packaging serving various markets including food, medical, and retail.
It operates manufacturing facilities in Madison, Wisconsin; Elkhart, Indiana; Plymouth, Minnesota; West Springfield, Massachusetts; and Wilson, North Carolina.
In October last year, Placon expanded its production capacity with the acquisition of a former Sonoco packaging operation in Wilson, North Carolina.
