There is a launch of the AmPrima Plus refill pouch for Avon’s Little Black Dress shower gels in China that has been announced by Amcor, which is the packaging leader, and the beauty business giant Avon. The fact is that the new refill pouch will go on to give out tremendous environmental benefits.

Made by way of constituting recyclable materials, the new refill pouch goes on to contribute to an 83% reduction in terms of carbon footprint as well as reductions of 79% and 88% in energy use and water consumption, respectively, when recycled.

This kind of innovation syncs well with the ambitious sustainability target that Avon has undertaken.

The company is looking forward to making use of 100% reusable, recyclable, as well as compostable packaging materials across all its product lines by the end of this decade.

Moreover, it is worth noting that Avon has recently gone on to speed-up its objectives to include making use of 50% recycled content by weight across all its packaging by 2030 and also supporting collection programs in major markets.

The research and development team at Amcor, apparently, went on to partner closely with Avon so as to design the refill pouch. The companies opined that the pouch goes on to offer functionalities as well as consumer appeal in terms of traditional packaging, such as necessary barrier properties, high-quality graphics, durability, etc. Significantly, it happens to maintain efficiency in terms of production with run speeds that match up with the non-recyclable choices.

Amcor’s global director of product management, Roawin Luo, said that the product range of Amcor’s AmPrima provides packaging choices so as to help major brands such as Avon, so as to reach their sustainability objectives.

He added that they are indeed proud to go ahead and offer a recycle-ready solution that enhances the functionality along with the consumer appeal of an iconic brand as big as Avon. The integration when it comes to the refill format along with a recyclable film material has led to innovation in terms of fresh refill packs from the iconic Avon Little Black Dress shower gels, said Marketing Head, Avon China, Abby Deng. This collaboration goes on to mark quite a prominent milestone in their bent for sustainability as well as innovation, thereby enabling consumers to make the utmost use of their high-quality products while at the same time also contributing towards a future that’s environmentally friendly.

It is well to be noted that the 35-ml refill pouch for shower gel now happens to be available across China. The fact is that both companies happen to be already working in terms of expansion towards also including refill pouches for the Shimmer Shower Gel in the later part of 2024, in addition to the development of sustainable packaging solutions.
