Colpac has unveiled a new range of food packaging as it responds to demands from retailers and foodservice operators for packaging that meet consumer expectations for restaurant-quality delivered meals.
The fully recyclable Stagione line is available in three different sizes – 500ml, 750ml and 1 litre – in a rectangular rimmed tray with rounded corners that features the same base footprint “for merchandising and stacking ease”.
The range features same-size-fits-all lids, available in three material options: Kraft PP lined paperboard, rPET anti-mist and PP.
According to Colpac, the Stagione range is ideal for a kitchen or a production line as its nestable, rigid and rimmed construction means it can be easily lidded or heat sealed, manually or mechanically.
The company said Stagione makes hot holding and selling food to go or delivered meals easier for operators who want a printable pack that also enables freezing and microwave reheating.
“Growth of hot food to go has exploded in recent years, alongside the delivered meal market. Consequently, retailers and foodservice operators are seeking innovative pack solutions which can protect and preserve the quality of a dish from the point of fill, through hot hold or delivery to reach the consumer in optimum condition,” said Colpac’s head of marketing and product, Kate Berry.
“The Stagione range is essentially a pack for all seasons, packaging for both chilled and hot food to go.”
The line will be launched next month at the Packaging Innovations show in the UK.
