Coconut water brand Harmless Harvest has released a range of plant-based yogurt alternative products in the US.
The coconut yogurt portfolio consists of spoonable single-serving cups, single-serving dairy-free drinkable yogurts and a multi-serve dairy-free drinkable yogurt.
As Harmless Harvest looked to expand into new categories, it challenged itself to make a product that would use the same coconuts as its coconut water. According to the brand, the creamy texture of coconut meat “is a perfect substitute for traditional dairy”.
“With this new product line, Harmless Harvest will use the entire coconut for both its water and yogurt alternative, further living its brand promise to always consider its impact from seed to shelf,” said Ben Mand, CEO, Harmless Harvest.
“For more than a decade, Harmless Harvest has sourced coconuts from farms in Thailand. It’s a work in progress, but we’re consistently striving to do less harm and more good in everything we do.”
The Dairy-Free Coconut Yogurt Alternative Cups line is available in four flavours: plain, strawberry, vanilla and blueberry. Each cup has a suggested price of $2.29.
The Dairy-Free Yogurt Drinks come in three 8oz flavours – strawberry, mango and original unsweetened – and the 24oz is available in the original unsweetened variant. The 8oz drinks have a suggested retail price of $2.99 and the 24oz of $6.99.
In 2018, Harmless Harvest raised $30 million in a funding round and secured the backing of Danone Manifesto Ventures.
