US-based packaging solutions provider Ranpak has expanded its plastic-free protective packaging offerings with the launch of its sustainable, biodegradable and recyclable wrapping system, Geami MS Mini, in North America.
Ranpak, engaged in the production of sustainable packaging solutions for e-commerce and industrial supply chains, said that the Geami MS Mini system is a plastic-free alternative to conventional plastic bubble rolls.
Geami MS Mini is said to be suitable for warehouse packing stations, where space and efficiency are the priority. Its robust and compact design features a small footprint, maximising space on the table or counter for wrapping items.
According to Ranpak, the wrapping system can cost-effectively handle low-volume operations to mega-volume, omnichannel fulfilment retailers, while maintaining the overall quality.
The paper-based protective packaging solution combines the protective power of die-cut paper that expands into a 3D honeycomb structure with its low footprint.
The packaging solutions provider claimed that a single sheet without an inner leaf offers strong protection and aesthetics with a focus on maximising material efficiency.
The items can be wrapped firmly without the need for sticky tape or cutting by securing angled paper cells together.
Every packing station where individual objects need to be wrapped in protection can use the converter, which integrates quickly and requires minimal training for packers, the company added.
Ranpak chairman and CEO Omar Asali said: “Our customers are seeking ways to reduce their plastic packaging and Geami is a perfect solution to help them reduce/eliminate plastic wrapping.
“We are excited to launch the Geami MS Mini solution and provide our customers with a plastic-free protective packaging option that will improve their sustainability performance, enhance the unboxing experience for their customers, and provide the small converter footprint that they may need.”
The Geami MS Mini solution also provides a better unpacking and in-the-box presentation experience. Its honeycomb texture gives packaging a distinctive appearance that improves the consumer experience when they open their packages.
Ranpak’s plastic-free Geami paper offers a substitute for plastic wrapping while also enhancing brand reputation and customer loyalty for firms considering the impacts of potential future regulations.
